Lands on Roku devices today
The rumored Hulu Plus discount has landed with the Hulu website showing that a monthly subscription now costs $8 down from $10. Launched initially as an ad supported service, the subscription service was intended to help bolster the ongoing viability of the site. However, the test phase, which included only iOS devices and PS3 has not had the hoped for uptake resulting in the lower price.
Hulu has now added support for a wider range of devices and is now also supported on certain TVs from Samsung, and Sony. Vizio TVs, TiVo Premiere the XBOX 360 are due to have support for the service added soon. Currently, STBs such as the Google TV have been blocked at this stage, but a deal has been struck to bring it to the Roku STB today.
Users can sign up for a free one-week trial to the service, which includes content from major networks including ABC, Fox and NBC.
Subscribers who paid for Hulu Plus at the higher rate $10 monthly rate are being offered a refund for the difference.

United we stand, divided we fall
All these players like Hulu, Boxee, Google TV, Roku, Sony as well as the networks are seeing their enterprises fail because they can't agree (ie - are too greedy) to unite. The only one who seems to be succeeding is Netflix which appears in multiple places with a pretty full offering.
Get a clue, others!
