Code backs delay expectations
Apple is now distributing a second gold master of iOS 4.2 for developers. Few details have emerged on what the seed includes, except for presence of a new iPad build, 8C134b. The firmware should fix a Wi-Fi issue from the last build, in which an iPad would drop a Wi-Fi connection after just a few minutes.
The build may effectively confirm a delay for the public iOS 4.2 release. The update was originally expected to reach iTunes today, alongside iTunes 10.1, but Apple does not typically publish public and gold master releases on the same day. A master is essentially finished, but allows developers to catch any last-minute problems.
