Best Buy Black Friday: $125 gift cards with Macs, $100 Nook

Best Buy Black Friday to have big Mac deals, more

Best Buy's Black Friday sale in two weeks will be marked by key sales on Macs, e-readers and smartphones, a copy of the flyer shows. The big-box chain hopes to head off likely Apple sales by offering a $125 gift card for buying either a 13-inch MacBook Pro or a 21.5-inch iMac. The deal isn't the steepest for the computers Best Buy should have on November 26, as BFAds notes it will also take $150 off of any Samsung notebook and take $200 off of a Pentium dual-core equipped Sony VAIO EB to bring it down to $400.

Also coming the same day is a 33 percent drop on the price of a Barnes & Noble Nook Wi-Fi to $100. The e-reader has typically never seen steep discounts.

Game consoles are getting a major push this year. Nintendo may partly make up for significant losses after Best Buy drops the price of a Wii to $170. PS3 and Xbox 360 prices aren't changing but will see the entry level models of each come with three titles, which for the PS3 includes a Blu-ray movie.

Toshiba's BDX-1100 Blu-ray player could also reach a new low price for the format through a drop to $60.

Smartphones and tablets will get some discounts. The Samsung Galaxy Tab for Sprint and Verizon will take $50 off to reach $550 just two weeks after launch. Several smartphones are following trends set by Amazon and other retailers. The Samsung Fascinate, HTC Droid Incredible and LG Optimus S will all cost just $1 on a contract; the BlackBerry Torch will drop down to $50 on the same terms, and the newer Samsung Transform will cost $70.

Most Best Buy stores should open at 5AM on November 26, though tickets to reserve items will go out as soon as 3AM.
