Dish begins selling Google TV packages

updated 11:10 pm EST, Wed November 10, 2010

$179 for existing customers, with $4/month DVR

Dish Network has announced that it is now selling Google TV packages based on Logitech's Revue set-top box. Confirming an earlier leak, the company will subsidize the device to bring the price down to $179 for Dish customers who pay for the $4/month DVR service.

The Revue will allow customers to access Google TV features alongside Dish's dedicated programming data, DVR functionality, and video-on-demand content. To take advantage of DVR, users must have a ViP-series satellite receiver such as the ViP 622, ViP 722 or ViP 722k.

Anyone who already owns a Google TV box can still take advantage of Dish integration, but without receiving a refund for the special price. The Logitech Revue is now available to the general public for $299.
