First version deleted photos in some cases
Fixing a bug that has gotten widespread coverage in recent days, Apple this afternoon began pushing an iPhoto 9.0.1 update to its Software Update servers in an effort to fix an issue that causes corruption and data loss in the iPhoto Library for some users upgrading from previous versions, along with other issues. The bug affects the version of iPhoto shipped in the iLife '11 retail package.
The upgrade, which is also available via MacUpdate, weighs in at 33.9MB and says it "addresses issues that, in extremely rare cases, could result in data loss when upgrading a library from an earlier version of iPhoto." While complaints in Apple's support forums have been numerous, the percentage of customers who have actually experienced the bug may still be low, as people unaffected by it don't report back. backup reminder
I have 3 copies of my iphoto library, using Crashplan to send it to another local drive and a remote cloud storage.
Just a reminder that backup before you upgrade.
