Sprint ID to come to Epic 4G, Galaxy Tab

updated 03:55 pm EDT, Thu October 28, 2010

Sprint ID will be offered on Epic 4G, Galaxy Tab

Sprint has confirmed that its Sprint ID software will come to the Epic 4G smartphone and Galaxy Tab tablet smartphones, in addition to the already planned mid-range Android devices such as the Samsung Transform and LG Optimus S, as originally announced at the fall CTIA show. Sprint hasn't detailed when it will equip Epic 4Gs with the software.

Sprint ID phones will have a shortcut built into the three-button layout at the bottom of Android 2.2, but it will replace the browser icon. The button will launch whatever downloadable mobile ID Pack a users chooses. Each includes themed apps, ringers, wallpapers, widgets and more, usually tied to a company such as ESPN or E!.
