Beta WinAmp for Android allows Wi-Fi syncing

WinAmp, Nullsoft's longstanding media player app, is now available as a beta for Android. The downloadable app lets smartphone owners sync their phones with their desktop WinAmp libraries, either via a USB connection or wirelessly over Wi-Fi, though the latter requires the WinAmp 5.59 beta for the desktop. Users can also access right from inside the app and scrobble their listening habits.

The app includes on-screen controls for navigating tracks and managing the playing queue. Tracks in a queue can be sorted, selected individually or saved as a playlist. Shortcuts to the playlists and the widget can be added right onto the Android home screen, while users can access playback controls from the lock screen.

The screen displays song info, album art and song run time. Pressing and holding song info lets users interact with Pandora, YouTube and the Amazon MP3 Store.

The free download is now available from Android Market.
