Fox blocks Cablevision from seeing Hulu in dispute

Hulu became the victim of a TV programming dispute between Fox and Cablevision today as it was forced to pull Fox shows from its website. The TV streaming site was told that it had to prevent watching Fox shows for anyone visiting from a Cablevision IP address to "remain neutral" until the two could agree on carriage fees. Videos were restored this afternoon, but a check by AllThingsD showed that remained blocked.

Fox's parent News Corp didn't explain its reason for expanding the block to include Internet video as well as cable channels, but the move was rare in the industry. The media giant has threatened to pull Internet video in the past as a bargaining tactic in getting better payments from carriers, but until now it had never followed through on the promise.

Internet video has usually been a means of softening the blow of such disputes, although no block would have affected live sports due to the absence of live sports or video.

God I am tired of these content n****

I so wish we could just go back to the days when there were three channels and we got all our other video on VHS tapes. This n***-like control of what we can watch and where we can watch it and when we can watch it, and so on and so on is just really getting old 10 years ago.

Time to dump Fox and Cablevision...if I even used them anymore.
