Extends reach of Walmart sales

Membership-based chain Sam's Club will begin carrying the iPhone and iPad in the near future, parent company Walmart has announced. No timeline for the rollout has been given beyond the holiday season, but the company says it is trying to increase the quality in its electronics, health and fresh food sections. Walmart-branded stores are already carrying the iPhone, and should start selling iPads this Friday.

Apple has been aggressively expanding the retail availability of the iPad in recent weeks. The tablet should now be available in Target outlets, as well as all US Best Buy stores, instead of just a portion. Its reach has also been growing outside of the US, most notably to China.
