Google TV will not support Hulu, over-the-air TV

First impressions of the Logitech Revue with Google TV were posted courtesy of NewTeeVee. As the author says, the device will not give users access to over-the-air TV broadcasts, nor will it allow streaming Hulu access. On the positive side, the hardware was found impressive, with a full-size wireless keyboard that is light and has an integrated touchpad. It has a built-in, rechargeable battery that is said to last as long as one year on a single charge.

The integrated media player is DLNA-compatible, letting users stream content from their local network or attached hard drives. Dish Network subscribers will have the ability to search their recordings from the interface. Other cable TV subscribers will have access to electronics program guides. Picture-in-picture is available, letting users browse the guide while watching a program in the corner.

TV content is only available from a set-top box over an HDMI connection, however.

No reasons or apologies were given for the lack of Hulu support, but staff did say the product will get better over time with software updates that bring new features and functionality to the device. Recent reports suggest Google is still in talks with Hulu to enable the streaming service, however it will likely be limited to Hulu Plus paid content rather than the free version.
