Cooking database will feature 900+ recipes
Aimed at the growing Hispanic market, General Mills will soon release a free iPad-specific, Spanish-language recipe app that offers 900 Latin-inspired favorites. The app, called Que Rica Vida Recetario or "What a Rich Life Cookbook" in English, is being developed in response to strong consumer demand, and will feature pictures, an ingredient measurement converter, and recipes in 12 different categories, such as appetizers and snacks, breakfasts, salads, garnishes, drinks and beverages, breads, pastas, pastries and cookies, entrees, desserts, sauces and soups.
The app connects to the company's QueRicaVida.com web site and will provide access to more recipes as well as lifestyle and educational information along the lines provided by General Mill's similarly-named quarterly lifestyle magazine. This is the first spanish-language app the company has developed. It will debut this week as part of the Blogalicious conference in Miami, Florida.
