Firefox 4 to offer more search engine options

With its upcoming Firefox 4 browser, Mozilla will include the option to have Bing as the search engine in addition to Google, says ArsTechnica. Bing will be just one of the options available from a drop-down menu, including Amazon, eBay, Wikipedia and Yahoo. Mozilla did this because of Bing's growing popularity and increasing demand from users.

Mozilla has a profit-sharing agreement in place with Google, and a similar one with Microsoft based on sharing revenue from referrals. Specifics and differences between the two were not revealed, however.

Vice president of products at Mozilla, Jay Sullivan, says the new features were given to ensure options are modern and meet user expectations.
