Ehon: Mac-only e-book/e-comic library management

updated 09:10 pm EDT, Mon October 4, 2010

Supports comic, manga and book formats

French software firm Kaiju Software has released a public beta of their Mac-only digital publications viewing and management software, Ehon 1.0. The program supports popular comic and manga formats such as CBR/Rar, CBZ/Zip as well as ebook formats like PDF and ePub, or even folders of images.

Ehon features a modern interface, with shelves, list and Coverflow support, iTunes-like navigation and easy use of tags. The program incorporates reader engines so that users do not have to leave the program to read their e-publications, and sophisticated search filters and tag clouds.

The pre-release software is free to try while in beta, with early purchases getting a discounted price of $18. Licenses cover all future upgrades of the 1.x product. Ehon requires a 64-bit Intel Mac (Core2Duo or higher) running 10.6.4 or better, and is available in both English and French.
