New HSPA+ network delivers video calling

T-Mobile has officially launched the Android 2.2-based redesign of the myTouch. Previously referred to as the myTouch HD, the HTC manufactured phone is built on a second generation single core Qualcomm Snapdragon 1Ghz processor platform and centers on a 3.8-inch WVGA touchscreen. It also incorporates a pre-installed 8GB microSD card and a five-megapixel camera capable of 720p video recording. As an HSPA+ capable phone, it supports video calling on T-Mobile's network and downstream speeds up to 14.4Mbps.

The device also comes preinstalled with games from the Android Market, including Rock Band, Asphalt 5 and Monopoly. It integrates DLNA allowing easy sharing of photos and videos with similarly equipped devices and comes installed with Nuance's Dragon Dictation, which is enabled by pressing a Genius button and allows users to call, text, email or access the internet with voice commands.

Customers can currently register their interest in the device on T-Mobile's web site, where it is listed as coming soon.
