It was among the actor's favorite possessions
Actor, painter and Hollywood legend Tony Curtis was buried today with a few of his most treasured possessions, including the novel from which he took his stage name, a Stetson hat, driving gloves, an Armani scarf ... and his iPhone, according to the Associated Press.
The performer, born Bernard Schwartz, died Wednesday at his home in Henderson Nevada, just outside Las Vegas. In a career that spanned decades, the Oscar-nominated actor transformed himself into an author and celebrated painter who was known for his zest for life.
At the beginning of his career, he picked the name Anthony Curtis as a combination of the character of his favorite novel Anthony Adverse by Hervey Allen and an Anglicized version of his uncle's name. He later shortened it to Tony Curtis. He was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in The Defiant Ones, but is also well-remembered for his roles in Spartacus, Some Like It Hot, The Sweet Smell of Success and the 70s TV show "The Persuaders."
He is the father of actress Jamie Lee Curtis from his marriage to Janet Leigh. The funeral featured paintings and drawings from Curtis' later period, as well as a clip of his famous animated appearance as "Stony Curtis" in the cartoon series "The Flintstones." He was 85 years old. [via MacDailyNews]

I think it's stupid to be buried with something like a phone. I mean, that could have been given away and made some person who couldn't afford one really happy, but now it's just going to rot underground until it gets too much water in it and never works again. Shame.
