Aimersoft has launched a new video editing and conversion tool, Video Studio Express for Mac. The program cuts, splits and joins video files, and supports a range of formats such as AVI, MPEG, MP4, QuickTime, and Flash. It also works with imported DV and camcorder video. Tools adjust settings like brightness, contrast and saturation.

Some features include 60-plus transition templates, custom background music, and multiple ways of sharing edited clips. These including syncing to media players, uploading to YouTube, and exporting to iMovie, Final Cut Express, QuickTime Pro or iDVD.

Video Studio Express requires Mac OS X 10.5 or higher, and is priced at $35. A free trial version is available for download.
