T-Mobile Wi-Fi calling for Android handsets due
T-Mobile's plans to bring Wi-Fi calling to its handsets are nearing fruition, as leaked images reveal. Originating from TmoNews and depicting an employee training screen of the UMA service and a leaked screen of what appears to be a Samsung Vibrant with a Wi-Fi calling app on its screen, it seems like the service could go live at any point. The service will also not work beyond Wi-Fi, so if a user leaves the Wi-Fi coverage area, the call will end.
Not all Android devices will get the functionality either, with the few, unnamed models getting the ability through an over-the-air update. The devices thus far believed to get the service include the T-Mobile G2, Samsung Vibrant and the LG Optimus, though this hasn't been confirmed by any substantial proof.
