Announcement marks company record
Apple will launch its first retail store in Spokane, Washington this Saturday, opening the doors at 10AM local time. The outlet is based in the River Park Square shopping center along West Main Avenue, and should have regular hours of 10AM to 9PM Monday through Saturday, and 11AM to 6PM on Sunday. No workshops have been scheduled so far.
The shop is Apple's sixth in the state, and the 43rd it has unveiled worldwide during the 2010 fiscal year. It also makes another major milestone, as it means Apple will be opening a full seven stores on Saturday, including ones in China, France, Germany, Italy and the UK. Apple has never before accomplished a similar feat; the closest record dates back to October 16th 2004, when six mini-stores and one conventional outlet debuted. The latest openings may be barometer of the company's success, which has been largely unaffected by recession.
