Dropbox outs BlackBerry app, updates others

Dropbox, which provides apps for mobile devices that let users share files and documents, today released its first app for BlackBerry phones as well as Android and iOS updates. The new Dropbox for BlackBerry app can be downloaded today and includes core features such as upload progress, file sync and more. It should cooperate with any other Dropbox-supporting platform and connect over both 3G and Wi-Fi.

The universal iPhone and iPad app gets new features in the form of automatic offline caching for recently accessed files as well as support for HD video and high-resolution photo captures. Dropbox has added new home screen and progress display, a full screen landscape view for the iPad and multitasking support.

Android devices get newfound support for photo galleries and multi-photo upload, automatic file sending to Dropbox from other apps, a progress bar and notifications for file transfers, and a myriad of smaller features.

    PATHETIC

You still can not get a share-link for a file without first initiating a download of that file. This is beyond pathetic. Whoever is coding this app needs to be laid off NOW and replaced with someone with a brain. For over a year they have ignored thread after thread after thread on their forums where users have brought this to their attention, and NOTHING has changed. Seriously, beyond pathetic.
