LaCie intros very color-accurate 24-inch LCD with IPS

LaCie 324i display brings 10-bit IPS panel

LaCie today rolled out a very high-end desktop LCD for pro image editing. The 24-inch 324i uses a 1920x1200 P-IPS panel with 10-bit color per channel and consequently offers near-total coverage of the color ranges visual editors need. It can reach 98 percent of the Adobe RGB color gamut and a better-than-full 102 percent coverage of what NTSC video can use.

The screen produces just a 1,000:1 static contrast ratio, but combined with backlight stabilization is still said to be relatively vivid. LaCie promises that the 324i is friendly to hardware calibration and bundles it with test software to gauge its accuracy. Input is diverse with one each of component, DisplayPort, DVI and HDMI, with three USB ports and pivot support adding still more flexibility.

Sales have already started for the 324i, which costs $1,249.
