iHome outs iP3 iPod/iPhone speaker dock

iHome ships latest Studio series iPod/iPhone dock

iHome has announced the release of its latest speaker dock for Apple's iPod and iPhone with the iP3. It succeeds the iP1 in the lineup, uses Bongiovi Acoustics' Digital Power Station automatic sound adjustment technology and sports a component video output for playing back videos from the Apple devices on a connected TV. The dock houses a 50W class D amp that drives twin 3.5-inch speakers.

Users also have more discrete control over how their music sounds than with some docks thanks to adjustable bass and treble controls. Composite (RCA) video backs up the higher-quality source, and a 3.5mm audio input exists to connect other audio sources to the iP3's speakers.

The iP3 is now shipping for $200.
