To end country's exclusivity
South Africa will get the iPhone 4 on Wednesday, September 22nd, a national business site reports. Two carriers are said to have confirmed launches, namely Vodacom and MTN. Vodacom sources say the company is planning a midnight launch party at its Vodaworld campus in Johannesburg; MTN may also be planning a midnight launch, but it will neither confirm nor deny the fact.
Both of the carriers have yet to announce any pricing details beyond the option of going with or without a contract. For MTN the launch will mark its first time selling an iPhone in South Africa, as Vodacom has held exclusive rights until now. Other countries debuting the iPhone 4 this week include China, Israel, Turkey, Thailand and Malaysia.
