Firefox Home iOS app brings address bar, encrypted sync

updated 08:35 pm EDT, Mon September 20, 2010

App now offers browser features

Mozilla has released an update to its Firefox companion app for iOS devices. Firefox Home 1.0.2 now allows users to type a website's URL into the search bar or search for an unknown term. The latest version also supports user-configured Firefox Sync servers, along with full encryption to protect data transfered during the sync process.

The utility offers the same 'awesome bar' search for quickly navigating to recently or frequently visited websites, while users can access all of the tabs left open on a desktop computer. The company has also expanded the list of localizations to include 16 additional languages.

Firefox Home 1.0.2 is now available as a free download from the App Store. [via Macworld]
