Dell prepping Studio XPS 15, 17 notebooks?

An unconfirmed report originating from French-language forum LesDeLLiens maintains that Dell will soon replace its Studio XPS 13 and 16 notebooks with the XPS 15 and 17, respectively. They are due to show up in the French market sometime in late October or early November, which means they could arrive in the US sometime before then. There are also some leaked technical specs for each flagship notebook, optioned up to their limits.

The XPS 17 will be available with an unspecified Core i7 CPU and as much as 16GB of RAM, along with 1.2TB worth of storage space likely coming from two hard drives. It is otherwise said to get an available 3GB NVIDIA graphics core (likely dual 1.5GB parts) and JBL speakers, along with an HDMI 1.4 output sthat makes 3D video is a distinct possibility. Rounding out the rumored specs are USB 3.0, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The new XPS 15 may get a Core i7 of unknown clock speed, as much as 8GB of RAM and a 750GB hard drive. Graphics will be handled by a 2GB NVIDIA chipset, and the same JBL speakers, HDMI 1.4, USB 3.0, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth will reportedly appear.

Pricing remains unknown for either PC, but is likely to be on the higher end of the scale considering their positioning in Dell's lineup. [via NotebookReview]
