Includes Final Cut Pro 7.0.3
Apple has deployed a series of software updates, including QuickTime 7.6.8, only available for Windows 7, Vista and XP SP2. The patch concentrates exclusively on security problems, which could be used to attack a PC by way of the app's ActiveX control, or else a path-searching flaw in QuickTime Picture Viewer. For Mac owners Apple has posted Pro Applications Update 2010-02, which includes Final Cut Pro 7.0.3, Motion 4.0.3, Color 1.5.3, Compressor 3.5.3 and Qmaster 3.5.3.
The Final Cut Pro update includes numerous changes, such as real-time compatibility with Sony XDCAM HD422 720p24/p25/p30, and an upgraded Log and Transfer utility that allows ingesting multiple formats from the same SD card, including newly supported Sony NXCAM MPEG-2 SD formats. Several tweaks have been made to tape and video processing, such as the added option of choosing different SCC files when outputting a sequence multiple times. Bugfixes deal with problems like memory fragmentation and Control-G closing the wrong gap in the Timeline.
Motion 4.0.3 corrects the 3D Compass, and deals with an Optical Flow issue (also affecting Final Cut Pro and Compressor) on systems with more than eight cores. Color 1.5.3 adds XDCAM HD422 720p24/p25/p30 support, and solves a glitch with backslashes in filenames. Compressor 3.5.3 gains a setting for the iPad and iPhone 4, and "fixes an issue with incorrectly configuring the field order property of a QuickTime movie when using frame controls."
