T-Mobile myTouch HD sheet shows dual-core chip, video chat

T-Mobile myTouch HD seen as dual-core phone

T-Mobile's other upcoming HSPA+ phone, the myTouch HD, has potentially been validated through an internal document that suggests it may be the fastest and most advanced Android phone this year. The sheet handed to TmoNews lists it as having a dual-core 1GHz processor that would line up with testing of the HTC Glacier earlier in the summer. Backing the chip and the connection, it would be T-Mobile's first phone with an enabled front video camera for chat or live streaming.

Some of the other distinctive features would involve a screen sharing feature for direct video output regardless of the source as well as an upgrade to the Genius button that will speak out SMS messages and allow voice-dictated responses for drivers. Many of the other details are strictly in line with contemporary smartphones and would involve a 3.8-inch screen, a five-megapixel camera and 12GB of total storage between the built-in and included microSDHC cards.

The phone would share the T-Mobile G2's use of Android 2.2 and a Swype keyboard layer, although the myTouch badge implies that it would use T-Mobile's internally developed custom UI and not Google's original design.

No shipping info has been given, though without even a teaser from T-Mobile, the myTouch HD may not arrive until late in the year at the earliest.
