Flight Control passes 3 million downloads
ZumoCast has launched a new iPhone application for wirelessly streaming media, while Firemint has announced that Flight Control has passed 3 million downloads
ZumoCast, a free new mobile application that allows users to access video and music libraries from anywhere, has been released in the App Store. Instead of storing media content in hosted cloud servers, ZumoCast is capable of turning a user's computer into a cloud server. This allows content to be instantly accessible, without the need to upload any files, or pay monthly fees generally associated with online storage and sync services. Full iTunes integration has been worked into the app, providing users with playlist, album art, and continuous playback support. Other features include video transcoding, a document viewer, web access through any browser, and wireless syncing. ZumoCast can be downloaded for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad in the App Store, while the free companion desktop software is available from the company's website.
Flight Control passes 3 million downloads during its 18th month in the App Store
Firemint has announced that its popular iPhone game, Flight Control, has been purchased in the App Store more than three million times. The application, which was first released 18 months ago, quickly grew in popularity and still remains among the top 30 paid games in 64 countries around the world. Since its release, Flight Control has undergone several updates that have introduced new social and online features, and should get full Game Center integration with the iOS 4.1 update. Additionally, Firemint has announced that more than 2 billion planes have been landed on the game's online leaderboards, equating to roughly 5,000 times the air traffic handled by LAX per day.
