XtremeMac cases to ship in October
More new cases have been introduced for Apple's latest iPod touch, this time from Incipio and XtremeMac, though neither company has updated its website. Incipio will deliver five cases for the Touch, alongside a wristband for the sixth-generation Nano and an armband series for the Touch, Nano and Shuffle. Incipio's dermaSHOT is a high-density silicone case for the Touch, featuring a finish that slips easily into pants pockets. The SILICRYLIC has a silicone core with a hard-shell shield for the back and corners. The Feather is an ultralight polycarbonate case, while the EDGE is a hard-shell case made from optical-quality polycarbonate with a removable lower section for docking stations. The final product is the Dotties series, which come in 15 colors with 30 interchangeable colored dots.
Incipio will ship its [PERFORMANCE] Armband, with moisture-wicking neoprene construction and access to all ports, for the Touch, Nano and Shuffle. The company is also launching a new case, the Linq Wristband, for the Nano 6G. It uses NGP material for the case and a nylon wrist strap, with multiple color options. Incipio has not released pricing, photos or shipping dates for the new cases, but most of the Touch cases are redesigns of current cases for the iPhone or previous iPod touch generations, which can be viewed on the website.
XtremeMac has announced seven cases for the iPod touch 4G, armbands for both the Touch and Nano, and screen protectors for both new iPods. The Tuffwrap is a form-fitting silicone case that comes in pairs, with white/black, turquoise/black and purple/black color options. The Tuffwrap Tatu is laser engraved in multiple colors, while the Tuffwrap Play is a soft, flexible case with ergonomic grips geared for iPod touch gamers.
The Microshield Basic is a hard-shell polycarbonate case, the Microshield Accent adds a colorful rubber border to the hard shell, and the Microshield View is a two-piece design with a removable base for docking and a kick-stand for movie viewing. XtremeMac is offering a Hybrid case that combines a hard plastic back and a silicone overlay, in black or purple colors. The Sportswrap is a lightweight armband made of neoprene and lycra -- it will be available in both Touch and Nano configurations.
XtremeMac is also planning screen protectors for both the Touch and Nano. The Touch will have mirrored, glossy and matte finished screen protectors available, while the Nano will have glossy and matte options. XtremeMac will ship its new products in October, with prices ranging from $13 to $30.
