iHome to have AirPlay wireless speaker soon
iHome finished the week by teasing the first speaker system designed for the AirPlay feature in iOS 4.2. The single-piece design shown is designed solely to take audio over Wi-Fi from an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch and doesn't have a visible dock or display. It's promised to be truly portable and would have a built-in battery, likely lithium-ion, to go completely cable-free when necessary.
The accessory maker will only say that the AirPlay speaker is due to ship by the holidays and hasn't given a price or release date. The speaker's existence may predict a change in the iOS device accessory market, as it may shift the attention away from docks to wireless peripherals. It may induce competition with Sonos, which already has wireless speakers like the ZonePlayer S5 but which has its own wireless format and software.

Sounds a lot like Libratone
Wireless speakers for iPhone seems to be in fashion at the moment. Libratone (libratone.com) have just released a speaker that streams music from your iPhone. The only difference to ihome is that you can order the speaker today.
