Third Mac OS X 10.6.5 beta narrows down to one known issue

updated 04:50 pm EDT, Thu August 26, 2010

Apple keeps to weekly pace

Apple today provided a third beta seed of Mac OS X 10.6.5 to developers, 10H531. The code is said to have just one known issue remaining, that being VMware. If the company's virtualization software is installed, it can potentially stop USB devices from working when a Mac emerges from sleep mode. Developers are otherwise being asked to focus testing on several areas, such as iCal, Mail, QuickTime, Time Machine and 3D rendering.

Apple has so far kept to a weekly schedule for v10.6.5 seeds. The second build was released last Thursday, and the first one emerged six days prior to that. Particularly due to the lack of known problems, the final version of the update could be ready in one or two weeks. [via AppleInsider]

...aka some kind of fix for the pro mobile systems dual link display graphics distortions so commonly reported for a couple of years now...?

Any word if today's 1.9 mbp firmware update assists i7 owners with the snow/streaks/double imaging-on-wake-from-sleep issues ?
