SP 2.7 adds multiple playback output, overlays
Sedna GmbH has launched an update to its digital signage software, Sedna Presenter, which now supports the iPad. The software provides tools for content assembly, scheduling and distribution, with support of multi-screen video walls. The player manages digital signage playback, accessible over the web and distributed to large numbers of installed players.
The Presenter application adds support for a maximum of four independent overlays on multiple playlists, giving v2.7 the ability to generate picture slideshows on top of a number of movies or live TV. The new version can support multiple playback versions in one project, such as different signage on each floor of a shopping mall.
Presenter now supports the iPad as a playback display, using the new Presenter Player app. The iPad app can display a text ticker and one content layer for for pictures, movies and HTML. It also features Playlist on Touch, a feature that launches playlists when a customer touches the screen. The app can synchronize multiple iPads for display rows and wall configurations.
The software is sold in parts, with Sedna Presenter available for $600. The player costs $300, while its publisher version, which can distribute thousands of projects across the web, can be purchased for $1200. The iPad Presenter player is available for $300, while the necessary App Store title can be downloaded for free.
