A new scanning application featuring optical character recognition capabilities has been released for the iPhone. Prizmo is able to scan documents from a picture taken with the iPhone's built-in camera, and can then apply a specific processing treatment depending on the type of document a user selects. Currently, the software features support for four different documents types, including text, business cards, receipts & bills, and whiteboards. Other features include, image processing, OCR support for 10 languages, a variety of export options, and full iOS 4 compatibility. Prizmo for iPhone is available globally through the App Store for $10, and can be upgraded with a text-to-speech feature via a $3 In-App Purchase.
Supra beings shipping its eKEY product for real estate agents
Supra has announced thats it has started shipping its eKEY hardware, which allows real estate ages to obtain house keys for listings with their iPhone. The eKEY consists of a hardware adapter that plugs into the iPhone via the 30-pin connector, and a free application that has been made available in the App Store. After logging into an account through the software, users are able to send an infrared signal to a locked key box, opening the lock and allowing access to a set of house keys. The eKEY software then makes a record of the event, allowing listing agents to monitor activity at all of their locations. The eKEY carries a one time fee of $55 for the hardware, in addition to a monthly key fee, which varies between different organizations.
