HOB offers MacGate for remotely accessing Mac desktops

updated 08:25 pm EDT, Tue August 17, 2010

Software works from Macs, PCs, Linux stations

HOB has launched a remote desktop application for the Mac, HOB MacGate. The software provides access to a Mac desktop over a LAN or the Internet and allows users to view a Mac desktop on a PC, allowing technicians to work on the Mac from a PC, Linux or Mac, but also allowing a user to work simultaneously on both a Mac and PC from one seat. All the Mac functions are available to the remote user.

The MacGate software is built on HOB's Remote Desktop VPN PC software. The software uses RDP protocols, is IP Port configurable and connects over HOB JWT, HOBlink UWT or Microsoft's MSTSC. It connects securely over the Internet via SSL and HTTPS.

MacGate requires Mac OS X 10.4 or higher and a 1GHz processor chip. (No pricing was provided.)
