Meter update improves report speeds
CinemaView is offering a $50 rebate on an accessory extending a Mac's desktop to two displays, while ProteMac has released an update to its network monitoring utility, ProteMac Meter.
CinemaView is currently providing a $50 rebate for the CV Duo, an accessory that extends a Mac's desktop across two external monitors. For the Duo to work the monitors must be exactly the same model, and use identical resolutions. To qualify for the rebate people must submit a form, and provide proof-of-purchase for two CV 24-inch LCDs. Any purchase date for the monitors qualifies. The CV Duo normally costs $150 with ground shipping included.
ProteMac Meter 3.7 features improved report speeds
ProteMac has published an update to ProteMac Meter, a network activity monitor. Information is provided on every network connection made by an application, with data such as host availability, incoming and outgoing traffic, and the timestamps of first and last activity. Alarms can be triggered when bandwidth or time limits have been exceeded, or if a particular traffic volume is reached. Version 3.7 addresses a number of bugs, and is also said to improve report speeds by a factor of 15 in some cases. ProteMac Meter is a $30 download.
