THQ intros Wii drawing tablet with games

updated 09:25 am EDT, Tue August 17, 2010

Launch titles include Pictionary

THQ has unveiled its uDraw GameTablet that offers a new way of interacting with Nintendo's Wii console. The device is a small handheld tablet with a four-inch by six-inch drawing space and comes with a detachable, pressure-sensitive stylus. The Wii Remote docks with the tablet, allowing the device to draw power directly from the original controller.

The tablet also factors in tilt-and-roll motion for controlling in-game characters by moving the tablet itself. It works with SD cards to save and print artwork created as part of the gameplay.

THQ bundles the tablet with uDraw Studio for creating artwork that can be saved and shared. Other titles that have been developed for the launch, and which support the device, include Pictionary and Dood's Big Adventure. The uDraw GameTablet bundle will be released Holiday 2010 for $70. Both of the companion games will also be available at the same time for $30 each.
