T-Mobile's Project Emerald may involve two HSPA+ phones

updated 01:50 pm EDT, Thu August 12, 2010

T-Mobile Project Emerald is two HSPA+ phones

The latest, though still unofficial, report about what Project Emerald at T-Mobile involves has surfaced at Phandroid. Rather than the return of the Sidekick brand, an anonymous tipster says Emerald means the release of two handsets that support HSPA+. This involves the G1 Blaze, which would be a rebranded HTC Vision at T-Mobile, and the HTC Desire HD, which T-Mobile will apparently call the myTouch HD or myTouch 3G HD.

The anonymous source saif the HTC Vision pictured below will differ from the G1 Blaze, though exactly how isn't known. It will have a front-facing camera and an optical trackpad, however.

The handsets are said to arrive at T-Mobile on September 22 and 29, though which one arrives on which date isn't known, as the dates in the calendar are blacked out. Pricing also remains unknown for the two Android-powered handsets.
