Quashes production rumors
White iPhone 4s will not be available in the UK until "the end of the year," according to regional carrier Orange. The company is currently sending out e-mails notices to the effect, with the added comment that if people are happy to "wait another few months," it will let them know when white phones are "back in stock." Despite the claim about the delay affecting all of the UK, only Orange is so far known to be taking such a position.
The statement does however cast doubts on the legitimacy of a leaked white iPhone, and the more reputable claim that Apple is past associated manufacturing difficulties. Apple's official position on white models is that they will now ship "later this year," following several delays past the iPhone 4's June 24th launch.
