Firefox 4 beta 3 live for all platforms

Mozilla today posted Firefox 4 beta 3. The release primarily accommodates Windows 7 users and now takes multi-touch input from Microsoft's OS. Web developers can now write code made ideal for touchscreen interfaces rather than assuming the existence of a mouse.

Every platform gets an upgraded JavaScript engine that represents values in a way conducive to processing large amounts of numeric code, including not only math but animations and images. A total of 34 languages can now use the beta natively.

Like previous versions of Firefox 4, beta 3 has a much improved web renderer with the largest jump coming in JavaScript. Also new are App Tabs, more HTML5 support with WebM video, crash protection against plugins like Flash, and a streamlined UI that puts tabs on top. Mozilla has made the beta available for Linux, Mac and Windows systems at the same time.
