App uses secure connection, keeps searches private
CHS Systems has launched a new search app on the iTunes App Store, Search DuckDuck Go. The app grabs snippets of text from the websites it finds during searches and displays them as part of the results. It also displays summaries from Wikipedia and other sources such as CHS, WolframAlpha and others. The app also provides mobile-formatted content pages, related topics and links to other pages.
The app encrypts searches and keeps searches private. It does not store IP addresses or use advertising on its app pages, while labeling official websites at the top of the search page.
The app works with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, requiring iOS 3.1.2 or later. It is a free app and now available at the iTunes App Store.
