MSI intros AE2280 all-in-one with THX audio

updated 12:50 pm EDT, Mon August 9, 2010

MSI AE2280 all-in-one now shipping in the US

Taiwan-based PC maker MSI has begun shipping its Wind Top AE2280 all-in-one desktop in North America. The desktop is framed around a 21.5-inch, 1080p display with multi-touch support but gives extra attention to audio. It comes outfitted with two THX TruStudio Pro audio-certified 5W speakers that, despite their power, provide it with a more home theater-level experience.

Processing power comes from either a 2.93GHz Core i3 or 3.2GHz Core i5, and there is 4GB of RAM in either version. The version with the slower chip gets an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5430 graphics chipset with 512MB of RAM, while the faster model has the 1GB Mobility Radeon HD 5730. Both get a 640GB hard drive preloaded with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

The systems bring Wi-Fi, a dual-layer DVD drive and an integrated 1.3-megapixel camera. The included keyboard and mouse are wireless, and MSI sees fit to bundle a remote.

Pricing for the AE2280 starts at $950.
