HP Mini 5103 business netbook arrives in the US

HP is now shipping the Mini 5103 pro netbook, which was just introduced last week in Europe. The 10.1-inch netbook can be had with a display resolution of 1024x600 or 1366x768, and capacitive multitouch layer can be added to the latter as well. Processing is handled by one of two Atoms; a 1.66GHz N455 or the newer, 1.83GHz N475, either paired with integrated GMA 3150 graphics. There is also 2GB of DDR3 RAM onboard, its key difference from the earlier Mini 5102.

As a business netbook, there is a wider range of options compared to the mainstream Minis, including a choice of 160GB or 320GB 7,200RPM hard drives as well as 80GB or 128GB solid state drives. Any can be preloaded with Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Starter or SUSE Linux Enterprise 11. Four- or six-cell batteries are options, and a Broadcom Crystal HD Enhanced Video Accelerator is a choice for accelerating up to 1080p video.

Standard fare includes a two-megapixel camera, stereo speakers, stereo microphones, Wi-Fi, gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth, HP Mobile Broadband powered by Gobi with GPS, three USB ports, an SD slot, a VGA output and a spill-resistant keyboard. The netbook weighs between 2.64 and 2.86lbs thanks to their magnesium alloy design. Available colors include espresso, red and blue.

Pricing for the HP Mini 5103 starts at $399. [via Laptoping]
