Hack moves on from iPad
An updated hack, still in alpha, allows people to use Flash on an iPhone 4. Dubbed Frash, the software has been recompiled based on a version for the iPad and iPhone 3GS. Installing the code requires iOS 3.2.1 on an iPad, or v4.0.1 on an iPhone 4. Devices must also be jailbroken, which in the case of the iPhone 4 requires visiting JailbreakMe.
The installation process is not simple. After jailbreaking, people must download OpenSSH to their device through Cydia, and then use an FTP client to copy a DEB file over to a specific folder. Frash should launch after a reboot; within Safari, people must tap on "Flash" to actually view material.
Apple has yet to support Flash officially, claiming problems with the technology like performance and stability. Flash 10.1 is already being demonstrated on other major smartphones however, such as the Droid X. Apple may be willing to add support if technical issues can be diminished.
