Australian bank: Apple Pay builds customers

Two months after it leapt out from the pack in being the first Australian bank to sign on with Apple Pay, ANZ Bank has reporting that the move resulted in both new customers opening accounts with it just to take advantage of the technology, and a nationwide leap in digital transactions processed by the bank. Managing Director of Products and Marketing Matt Boss said that transaction sales were up 20 percent, with digital sales jumping by 60 percent year-over-year, and that Apple Pay played a "huge part" of the bank's overall growth. He also credited the technology with making low-activity customers more active in purchasing. http://bit.ly/28LFT3w

Microsoft launches iOS app for SharePoint

A new iOS app from Microsoft allows Office 365 users to connect to SharePoint Online and SharePoint Server (versions 2013 and 2016). The free app allows businesses to widen the options for inter-office collaboration and communication, though the current iOS app has only the most popular features of the desktop client version, rather than offering the full set of tools. Users can access profiles of other users on the system, navigate to curated sites and portals, and offers a "Sites" tab that accesses site assets and frequently-visited sites. The app requires an iOS device running iOS 8 or later. [32.6MB]

Apple Pay now accepting MyCokeRewards

Users who have or sign up for the MyCokeRewards loyalty program can now add their card to Apple Pay using the Wallet app on iPhones, and those who do so will receive a free drink from the company. The card allows buyers who use vending machines that accept "contactless" payments to utilize Apple Pay through their iPhone to pay for the drink. Just adding the loyalty card to Wallet gives users 30 points (good for one free drink), and users typically get three points for each purchase. Any Coca-Cola products, including non-carbonated offerings available in the vending machines, also qualify for the rewards. http://bit.ly/28JSbx3
