MIDI enhancements, Note Repeat arrive in v1.5

MOTU has upgraded its sound library and rhythm programming software, BPM 1.5. BPM combines drum machines and virtual instruments, with kits, patterns, loops, instrument sounds, mixing and DSP effects on board. The software arrives with over 19GB of rhythm sounds to pull from when designing new music.

Version 1.5 adds 4GB of legacy rhythm sounds in the new Beat Box Anthology collection, including 80 classic drum machines sampled from the 70's to the 90's. Also new are FlexLoops, fully programmable kits and patterns sampling from styles like Dancehall, electro, house and trip hop, which can be combined to create hybrid beats. MIDI control is enhanced in v1.5 with remote control of third party controllers and MIDI remote preferences for extended customization. A new Note Repeat button has been added to hold notes -- it can be mapped to a MIDI controller as well.

BPM 1.5 works with MAS, AU, RTAS and VST or as a standalone application. It requires Mac OS X 10.4 or newer and costs $300.
