Apple allows devs to sell their own apps through iAd

updated 04:10 pm EDT, Wed July 28, 2010

Platform continues to expand

Apple has continued to expand its iAd advertising platform with new options for developers and advertisers. The company now allows developers to purchase iAds to promote their own apps across the network.

The first iAd placements, including a Nissan Leaf ad, began showing up on iOS devices early this month. After a user clicks on the small banner, the full ad takes advantage of the entire screen without switching to Safari. Advertisers can place menus in the ads, along with other media content such as videos or interactive images. [via Jacqui Cheng]

    Sounds.....

Sounds like a good way to take those irritating splash screens off & replace with a proper advertisement.
