Video conversion software includes editing tools

Elgato has released a new iPhone and iPad compatible software-edition of its video conversion utility, Turbo.264 HD. The app can be used to edit HD camcorder clips on the Mac, and convert the finished product to a high-quality iPhone/iPad supported format. A series of built-in editing tools allow users to crop, scale, rearrange, and combine multiple videos into a single movie, and includes support for both drag-and-drop functionality and multiple video clip conversion.

In addition to the iPhone and iPad support, the app can work with almost any other kind of video file and can upload converted movies to iTunes, or directly to YouTube; the company also offers a hardware-accelerated version of Turbo.264 HD, which is capable of boosting the speed of video conversion by two to four times, and comes complete with a copy of the software.

The software edition of Turbo.264 HD is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5.8 or higher, and available from the Elgato website for $50.
