Apple polls limited group of iPhone 4 owners

updated 04:10 pm EDT, Tue July 20, 2010

Leaves little room to criticize reception

Apple has reportedly sent out a customer satisfaction survey to a small portion of iPhone 4 owners. The form is mostly generic, addressing topics common of product surveys, such as overall satisfaction with the device and whether a person would recommend an iPhone to others. It also asks which phones a person might have previously owned, however, and for ratings on specific features like durability, FaceTime and the Retina Display.

The survey lacks a way of rating the iPhone 4 on its reception, other than through a basic "Phone" category. While likely not a deliberate choice on Apple's part, the gap could somewhat skew the company's perception of public opinion. The iPhone 4 has received much media criticism for its "death grip" signal flaws, though the company has taken steps to address them and said only a small number of complaints have been received.

    I think......

I think i'd have to check very satisfied for everything except multi-tasking, which i'd check as somewhat satisfied. I think there should be an easier way to kill an app.

    article is not correct

"The survey lacks a way of rating the iPhone 4 on its reception, other than through a basic "Phone" category."

Unless you choose one of the lower satisfaction ratings for the "phone" question, in which case you get a section asking for more details about reception and dropped calls. At least I'm assuming so, since I got that section. I suppose another possibility is that the submitter is a troll.

    Ipod touch survey

I just purchased an Ipod touch and received a somewhat similar survey by email from Apple. Perhaps this is not just limited to IPhone customers, and we should not read too much
    into it.

    What???

Apple polls limited group of iPhone 4 owners

You mean someone's taking a poll and using a small sample size, vs. just asking every owner out there? You're kidding me! Next thing you know we'll find out those political polls you see aren't determined by asking every voter.

Hey, at least it isn't a push poll, along the lines of "Would you prefer to have your iPhone or Obama's idea of taxing every American until they were in the poor house in order to fund socialized medicine initiatives to provide healthcare for illegal immigrants and terrorists".

Or, I guess, to keep it in technology "Do you agree that Apple's use of Black and White, the only pure color that truly exists in nature, for their iPhone, is preferable than Microsoft's use of the colors of human excrement and vomit?"
