iPad demand still strong over three months later

Study shows nearly as many want iPad as own it

iPad demand has barely cooled since the tablet went on sale in April, America's Research Group gauged from a new study. Even as 8.4 percent of those asked already had an iPad, 6.1 percent still planned to buy. With demand still at 70 percent of ownership, the results point to "incredible demand," ARC founder Britt Beemer said.

The tablet is already considered the most successful in terms of sale rate, as it passed three million in 80 days and will have exceeded that number by the time Apple can report its quarterly results next week. While unconfirmed, Apple's production rate may be increasing to two million per month and could give Apple one of its best new-category product starts ever. Kaufman Bros. and other analyst groups have predicted Apple could sell 10 million iPads in calendar 2010.

Windows tablet sales have been difficult to measure, but they were low enough in Europe that the iPad tripled sales immediately despite only a month of availability.

3.2.1 iPad update slows down wifi speeds

I just updated my iPad to the 3.2.1 and noticed very sluggish Internet performance. ( I have the 3G 64. I also have an iPhone 3GS, which I also updated to 4.0.1 ). I have the speedtest app on both. Prior to the updates, I usually got around 7000 kbps download on my iPhone, and a 11000 to 12000 kbps on my iPad. Now, after updating both, my iPad is down to 3000 to 4000 kbps download speeds, while my iPhone is still around 7000 kbps. Since my iPhone is still fast, I know it's not my network. My wired desktop gets around 18.8 Mb/s. Anyone else have this happen?

So? What is the big deal here?!
    Would you expect anything less?!
The product works right out of the box and everyone will purchase it... End of story!
