New version supports OAuth authentication
Blue Crowbar has upgraded its software for exporting tweets and photos to Twitter, renaming the software TwitExport 2. The original software was split between iPhoto and Aperture as plug-ins for each, then named iPhoto2Twitter and Aperture2Twitter. It allows users to send a photo or a batch of photos from either Mac imaging software title to Twitter via Mobypicture or TwitPic. It also supports Aperture 3's 64-bit mode and sending movies from iPhoto.
The new version, renamed to comply with Twitter's new trademark policy, has an updated user interface and support for Twitter's secure OAuth authentication. The new security measure allows users to send images without exposing password to third party photo sites.
TwitExport 2 requires an Intel-chip Mac with Mac OS X 10.5 and works with Snow Leopard. It works with iPhoto '08 or'09 and Aperture 2.1.4 or 3.0.3. The new plug-in is $6 per license and one license works for both iPhoto and Aperture.
