Apple ships backordered iPhone 4s

Some shipments may again arrive early


Apple has begun shipping iPhone 4s to customers with early backorders, reports say. Only a day after pre-orders were opened, the company moved future deliveries to July 14th, well past the original June launch date. People with the delayed target should now be receiving shipping notifications.

Anecdotes reveal that some people may in fact already have their phones, or updates that their orders are in transit. The situation appears to be echoing that of the launch period, in which some online orders arrived a day or more before originally scheduled. Apple has in recent months become less concerned with synchronizing online deliveries with official dates.

    June 17 to July 14

    I ordered my black 16 GB model on June 17th. It shipped last night, and is scheduled to arrive next Wednesday (the 14th). This is earlier than originally promised, though still disappointing.

    Ummm shouldn't the heading say...

    "Apple ships backordered iPod Touch 4's" I'm pretty sure this model doesn't do voice calls

    Charging....

    According to apple they don't charge your credit card etc till the phone is shipped, and i just got charge for one phone, and the 2nd charge tried to go through but i forgot to cover it with a payment, but i made payment so it should also be shipping soon......

    Will come back with update(s).

    Well I ordered on the 24th, which I know is late, but still no movement from 'not yet shipped' altho it does say 'by 14th july' does seem pretty poor I have to say..
